With months to go until the 2018 Municipal Elections, the UDP is getting ready to choose the candidates who will represent them. When we spoke to him earlier today, Prime Minister Dean Barrow gave us an update on how his party is gearing up for the elections...

"Where is the United Democratic Party when it comes to the preparation for the municipal election 2018 team setting up?"

"Starting off on the process of trying to arrange dates for the various conventions, identifying potential candidates and that sort of thing. We hope to complete the internal processes by October, certainly November at the very latest and some municipalities are going rather earlier than others but the whole thing should be done at the very latest by October, November and then we'll spend the next few months campaigning in earnest to see if we can in fact persuade the good Belizean people to give us another victory."
