Belize’s Workforce Uneducated (Mostly)
posted (June 29, 2017)
Last night we told you about the unemployment rate which had increased from eight to nine percent over the last year. But, the labour force has also grown to 164 thousand persons. Yet, only 135 thousand of them have some kind of formal education. Alarmingly, more than half of them only have a primary school education. Here's the breakdown:...

Curwen Arthurs - Statistician I, SISB
"Looking at education, about 135,113 persons had some formal level of education. Meaning that they either had completed primary, secondary or tertiary level of education. Of this 135,000 persons, about 52.2% of them in the labor force have completed a primary level of education. 26% secondary level, 21.6% tertiary and the other group comprising of schools like Stella Maris and other schools like these would comprise about 0.2% of the 135,000 persons in the labor force."

Only 21% of the labour force had a terry education.
