And after that firm opening, today's very long house meeting - had a lot to do with current events. First, Cayo South Representative Julius Espat made a presentation on all the murders in his division. Indeed, there have been many - especially in recent weeks - including the murder of Markey Mendez - which Espat said pains him greatly.
Espat called on government to press police to make an urgent intervention in Teakettle where residents are frustrated - and the Prime Minister was very receptive:
