Cabinet Ministers Will Appear Before Senate Select
posted (July 4, 2017)
Tomorrow, the Senate Hearings on Immigration will continue, and for the first for first time sitting UDP Ministers of Government will be called to testify as main witnesses.

Those Ministers who will answer questions from the Senate are Anthony "Boots" Martinez, who did not get his chance from last week, and Edmond Castro. They have been accused in these hearings by the former immigration agent turned whistleblower, Alvarine Burgess.

You'll remember that she said that back in her days as a fixer, she paid $2,000 in bribe money to both Ministers so that they would write recommendation letters for Chinese visa applicants. She asserted that those letters guaranteed that the applicants would get their visas approved.

As we have shown you, they both have categorically denied her allegations, and it is expected that they will go before the Senate and repeat as much for their record.

We understand that Senate Chairman Aldo Salazar will be sitting out tomorrow's hearings, but we have been unable to confirm why he is unavailable. That means that the other senators will have to choose a pro-tem chairman to sit in for Salazar.

Also, PUP's lead Senator, Eamon Courtenay, will not be there, and so Senator Michel Chebat is expected to fill in for him.
