posted (July 12, 2017)

It’s been discussed for years, but the plan for the new national bus terminal on Lake I Boulevard is coming together. According to a government release “the project is now being envisioned as a public-private sector partnership.â€￾ It is being spearheaded by Belize Infrastructure Limited, and yesterday Transport Minister Edmond Castro met with BIL General Manager Christy Mastry, and Marcel Ham of IMG Rebel, Government’s Public Private Partnership consultant.

The release says that the new terminal, quote, “(has) the potential for not only national and regional bus line servicing, but also expanded auxiliary commercial, retail and depot services, as well as connectivity to the local public transportation network.â€￾

We’ll keep monitoring this one.
