The Harassment of Anke Doehmn On San Pedro
posted (July 24, 2017)
On Friday night's news, we showed you how the Americans Anke and David Doehm got Supreme Court bail, despite the howls of protest outside of court, and the objections from the DPP's Office. Both the prosecutor and the public believe that they are a flight risk, after being charged with cruelty to a child for the death of their adopted daughter Faye Lin Cannon.

Anke Doehm met bail that same day, but her husband, David, didn't and, so he was taken back to prison. It was expected that he would be able to meet bail today, but we've confirmed that he is still on lockdown tonight.

But, they have bigger problems than bail. The Doehms are widely disliked right now, and as we told you, they have moved out of San Pedro. That's what their attorneys told the court when the judge wanted to find out which police station it would be most convenient for them to report to, as part of their bail conditions.

They've relocated to Belize City, and after this weekend, it appears that leaving the island, was a good decision. That's because Anke Doehm went back to the island, and as soon as she hopped off the boat on Saturday afternoon, she was harassed by residents throwing insults and accusations at her. It was recorded by our colleagues at Ambergris Today, and for legal reasons, we've edited the the video. Here's how they made sure to show her that she is not welcomed there:

Residents
"You are a monster, we don't want you here. Get out of this island. People like you don't deserve to be in this world. Get out of here you @#!@#..... disappear... people like you don't deserve to be in this world."

"You are supposed to rot in hell. You are an evil person."

She was required to report to the Queen Street Police Station today, as she must do weekly. They will reappear before Chief Magistrate Ann Marie Smith on August 24.
