Nine Pounds Of Weed In An SUV
posted (July 25, 2017)
2 men have been charged with drug trafficking in relation to a hefty weekend drug bust. On Saturday afternoon, police were on mobile patrol on the North side of Belize City when they got information to look out for a white Nissan Murano SUV. Well, they spotted the vehicle on the Phillip Goldson Highway and set chase after it into the city. They finally caught up with the vehicle in front of the Superstore on Central American Boulevard. Police searched driver 28 year old Ronald Michael and his passenger 23 year old Patrick Petillo and found nothing on them. But police found the 9 pounds of weed stashed in parcels inside the vehicle. They were both charged with drug trafficking. They were taken to court yesterday afternoon and Petillo pled guilty to the single charge of drug trafficking. He was fined $10,000 and was ordered to pay $2000 by Friday and the balance by December in default 3 years imprisonment. And though he took the plea, the charge against his passenger Ronald Michael was not dropped and he was granted bail of $5,000. He is due back in court on September 28th.
