Deleon is the second elderly man killed in the Orange Walk District in 7 weeks. Shopkeeper Pablo Pol was beaten, tied up and robbed, by two men in august Pine Ridge Village on June 15th. He died hours later.
But why all this violence against these innocent and defenseless old men? And what are police going to do about it? We asked the police minister - who is an Orange Walk Area Representative - and he didn't say much in terms of specifics - only, basically, that police would do their best:..

"Definitely any case that occurs the police department will investigate, will carry out their investigation and at the end of the day will lay charges where appropriate and it doesn't matter if it's an elderly or a young person or whoever it is, we are here to enforce the laws and to protect and serve our communities and I guess the police department is looking into those things and will deal with it accordingly."
One person - a minor - has been arrested in Pol's murder and another is wanted.
