Two Pounds Of Weed In a Phase Four Home

Police found just over two pounds of weed in a Belama Phase 4 home at 5:00 this morning. Both residents Ryan Ashly Smith and Lydia Young were charged for drug trafficking for those plastic bundles of weed found in the bedroom and possession for two other very small amounts found in the house.

They appeared before Magistrate Carlon Mendoza where were Smith pled not guilty to drug trafficking but guilty to possession of 1.55 grams of cannabis and 1.6 grams of cannabis. Both of these are less than a tenth of an ounce. He was fined $150 for each possession offence and was given until October 10th to pay. For her part, Young pleaded not guilty to drug trafficking. Smith and Young were both released on bails of $1,000 each for that trafficking charge and will return to court on October 11.
