And of course in that mix are the youth under 18. Murrillo explained where they factor into the figures in terms of crimes committed.

"This is the youths, this is the young children, a total of 64 of them came to prison from January to June out of that only 6 were convicted so the other 58 were remanded. The majority of the crimes they were here for are crimes of dishonesty as you can see and violent offenses. This chart shows you that the population as of the 30th of June stood at 23 with 8 of them on remand for murder that is a whopping 35%."
Again these figures are for the period January to June of this year. Murrillo's stats show 70 murders so far, 34 persons have been sent to prison for these murders. Of course, there have been 3 more murders this week.
