Delays In Chunox Excessive Force Investigation
posted (August 14, 2017)
So, while his office is directly in charge of the Dinsdale Thompson investigation, he told us today, that the head of the National Crimes investigation Branch is in charge of the inquiry into the shooting in Chunox.

That's the one where Richard Allen Garcia, a resident of the village, was shot and killed by police in June.

The officers have reported to their bosses that he approached them with a machete, which forced them to defend their lives by using deadly force. The villagers have rejected that completely, but the cops are still not finished with their investigation into that shooting.

The Head of the Professional Standards Branch told us what the delays are:

ACP Chester Williams, OC - Professional Standards Branch
"The Chunox incident took place prior to me taking over as commander PSB, but I can tell you that from inquiries that I have made and follow ups, the file is currently being prepared to be sent to the office of the DPP and she will be the one to make that determination as to whether or not to file any criminal charges against the police officers concern or to send the matter to coroner's inquest. So that matter will be sent to the DPP for determination."
