Two more men appeared in court for criminal charges today. Joshua Augustine and Antoine Rivero were both charged with robbery by Senior Magistrate Sharon Fraser. According to police, on Friday, Kayja Arnold was standing near the Princess Hotel and Casino talking on her cellphone when someone suddenly grabbed her by the neck. Arnold says another person then made a stabbing motion towards her. Fearing for her life, Arnold handed the phone over, but managed to flag down a police mobile patrol and report the incident not long after. The cops then tracked down and apprehended Augustine and Rivero.
Both men pled not guilty, but Magistrate Fraser upheld an objection to bail by the prosecution. The duo were remanded into custody until October.
