Benny’s Towhead Driver Dies From Blowout on 18-Wheeler

There was a terrible accident this morning at 6:00 on the Hummingbird Highway.  An 18 wheeler loaded with construction supplies for Benny's Hardware had a front end blowout and overturned at mile 38, which is not far from Armenia village.  

Police say the driver Winston Dawson from Belama Phase 3 veered to the right when the wheel blew out, and overturned on the shoulder.  Dawson was crushed and died on impact.  His three sidemen, 21 year old Albert Che of Lord's Bank, 21 year old Dorian Buckley of Hattieville and 29 year old Keaton Pollard of a Belize City address are all employees of Benny's and they suffered various injuries.  They were rushed to the western regional Hospital in Belmopan for treatment. 

Latest information is that Keaton Pollard discharged himself from the hospital, while Dorian Buckley suffered a cut wound, abrasion on both arms, and both knees and is listed as stable, while 21 year old Albert Che 21 received abrasions to both arms, and both knee and was discharged.

The 18 wheeler was loaded with hardware supplies to be distributed throughout southern Belize.
