Alleged Murderer Escapes
posted (August 23, 2017)
An alleged murderer has escaped from police custody. Yesterday police charged 24 year old Jevon Belizaire for the "Murder" of Ryan Thompson - the Pen Road resident who was killed outside his home in Belize City on Sunday night.

Belizaire was suppose to be taken to court for arraignment and remand today but this morning at around 5:30, he escaped from the holding cell at the Raccoon Street police station. Police are not discussing how he escaped, but would only share his picture and say tell us that he is wanted tonight.

As we reported, Ryan Thompson arrived at his house on Neal Penn Road Extension on Sunday night at around 9:30. He was walking up the stairs to his front door, and before he could open it, a gunman emerged from the darkness and fired several shots at him. One bullet injured him in the left side of the chest, and though he made it to the KHMH, he died 6 hours later from internal bleeding. The injury to the chest caused damage to several of his organs.

His family says that he was able to identify his shooter before he was taken into surgery and then placed in an induced coma.

At the time of the shooting, Thompson's 2 daughters, ages 2 and 4, were inside his house along with his girlfriend.
