Who’s The Best House Hothead?
posted (August 23, 2017)
Yesterday we went into our archives to sort of demonstrate how unusual and virtually unprecedented it was for PUP Cayo South Representative Julius Espat to walk out of the House of Representatives in protest on Friday, and not be followed by his fellow PUP members.

And that look back got us thinking about throwing tantrums in the House of Representatives. Espat is famous for them, but Jules Vasquez did a little digging to find out that he's not alone in his house hysterics:...

Jules Vasquez, reporting
He may be the latter day Mr. Cool and Calm - here we see him walking away from an argument with Luis Wade, but back in the day, the then opposition leader Dean Barrow angrily hurled a cup on the house floor.

But, he didn't follow up with the requisite angry interview.

Not like these guys.

Boots Martinez and Julius Espat - the reigning House Hotheads.

But who did it best?

Back in January of 2005, Martinez was apoplectic

After that he got struck in the head with an errant projectile, and then a plain-clothed police officer pushed him back as he made his way to the house.

And while the police pushed him away from the House chamber, they hauled and pulled Julius Espat out of it.

And he emerged with the look of a harried, heartbroken thespian, but one with hands of steel - or at least aluminum.

So while Barrow may have tossed a cup, and Boots wanted to tussle with a cop, there was none so bold as Julius who - like some sad Sampson - tried to bring the whole House down.
