Last night, we told you about 24 year-old Jevaun Belizaire. He was the man who escaped for police custody after he was charged for the murder of 24 year-old Ryan "Fish" Thompson. Well, he has been recaptured, and tonight he's behind bars at the Belize Central Prison.
Police say that they caught him in Belize City at around 5:30 a.m., and he was charged with escaping from lawful custody. He was arraigned today before Acting Chief Magistrate on the offenses of murder and and escape. Due to the nature of the offense, he was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until October 24.
As we reported, Ryan Thompson was shot and killed on last Sunday night, right outside his home on Neal Penn Road Extension. That happened at around 9:30 p.m., just as he was about to open the door to his house, someone opened fire on him. He was hit in the chest and the leg. The bullet to his chest claimed his life at the KHMH hours after he received emergency treatment.
