And police cracked another recent murder, this one on San Pedro. We told you last week how 25 year-old Scott Charles was killed inside his Bay Side home one week ago. Well police have arrested and charged Jose Armando Marroquin and Sarbelo Marroquin for the crime of murder. They will be arraigned in Magistrate's Court at the earliest convenience, and they will then be remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
Police sources tell us these men are believed to be hitmen for one of the warring groups on San Pedro that has been trying to protect their drug turf. They were identified by witnesses in an identification parade.
As we told you, Charles was home alone after his girlfriend took their 8-month-old daughter to church. His family believes that his shooters waited for them to leave, and as soon as they knew that he was alone, they kicked down his door and shot him in inside his house.
He was injured in the abdomen and the upper thigh, and he was airlifted to the KHMH where he died the follow afternoon while undergoing medical treatment.
