Dion and PIV Team Up For Park
posted (August 24, 2017)
The convention for the UDP mayoral candidate is coming up on Sunday. And, right now, both candidates are wrapping up their final campaign efforts. Today we caught up with mayoral hopeful Dion Leslie painting a park with members of the PIV gang:

Dion Leslie, Mayoral Hopeful
"This is a combination of about 2 weeks of work where we chose the Flamboyant street Oleander street, Jasmine street, and all the areas in between that people may know as PIV um but we chose this area in Lake independence in parts of pick stock to do a comprehensive clean up in terms of cleaning of drains picking up of garage and a basic upliftment of the area in general. All the residents got involved."

"The residents were encouraged to put out garbage that they had been having their yards for the past years or from the last hurricane so everyone came together and we chose this area because in past central governments you can say it has been ignored so to speak and we wanted to use this area as an example of what our vision is um for myself as mayor and the entire team. Come to the next municipal elections. Let us show what we can do to focus on that social master plan that we want to push in terms of sanitation, in terms of infrastructure with drains the cleaning of drains, in terms of beautification and in terms of sports fixing up the basketball court."

"We fixed about four streets back here as well. The streets were in deplorable condition with help from local contractors we were able to acquire some material and so we just wanted to come back here and do this as an example of what our vision is for the entire city."
