7 Belizeans will be traveling to the UK for a postgraduate degree. This is after the British Government awarded them the Chevening Scholarship. In a release it states that "the Chevening scholarships enable outstanding emerging leaders and influencers to pursue a one-year Post Graduate degree in their field of expertise at any UK university". This year's awardees are Cinnamon Bottaro, Shari Bowen, Jaraad Ysaguirre, Lloyd (Ian) Smith, Janine Cayetano, Sylvia Batty and Nicole Haylock. They will be studying in areas as diverse as Conflict, Security and Development, to International Security and Global
Governance.
Each scholarship is valued at approximately $100,000 Belize dollars.
