Hello To Haircuts

For all you parents stressing out and rushing to get those back to school supplies for your kids in time, you at least don't have to worry about giving your children a brand new look for the school year. That's because you can take your son and your daughter to the back to school trimming drive next weekend to get their hair cut or braided. One of the organizers told us more today.

Brian Dina, Organizer
"This is the 7th annual back to school trimming drive, it is an event that kids look forward to every year now and I give thanks to the community and the kids at large that need that support and we will be having kids from around the city, city wide whereby we go out and look for kids that are less fortunate and try to give them a nice haircut due to school opening and some school supplies as well."

Courtney Weatherburne, reporter
"How many kids would you normally cut in one day let's say, how many kids would you get based on previous years?"

Brian Dina, Organizer
"Based on previous years we did at least 100 kids per day, we been to the record already that we did 245 kids already so the amount of kids doesn't matter how much we get because like I said earlier it is the kids that need help so it doesn't how many kids come out."

"We also can pick up a group of 20 kids around the city so if there is any parents in the community that can gather about 20 to 25 kids they can call any of the contact numbers and we will be willing to come pick them up."

If you know how to give a good hair cut or wash and braid hair you and want to volunteer you can call 621 6791. You can also call that number if you would like to donate to or be a sponsor for this worthy cause. As you heard, the organizers are giving away school supplies for free.
