Police Minister Not Protecting “Prima”
posted (September 8, 2017)
The Amy Forte land fraud and forgery case that was making so much news a week ago has fizzled tonight - and that's because Amy Forte has still not made a police complaint.

But, the investigation is still live - and Darlene Padron - the justice of the peace who signed the conveyance from Forte to Andre Vega remains a key figure in the case. She has said that there was no forgery and it was Amy Forte who came before her to sign the conveyance.

But, Padron is also Police Minister Elodio Aragon's first cousin and yesterday, the media asked him if that fact will affect the investigation in any way:...

Reporter
"We are made to understand that Miss Padron is a relative of yours. Is that true? Is this going to interfere with the investigation in that case?"

Hon. Elodio Aragon, Minister of State - Home Affairs
"Certainly not."

Jules Vasquez, reporter
"She is your first cousin?"

Hon. Elodio Aragon, Minister of State - Home Affairs
"First cousin yes. And if you know my family we are not a tight knit family. We are family focus in terms of your immediately family and we have a lot of relatives out there, but we know each other. I know the family tree and definitely I want the public to know that will never hamper a police investigation. I've always said wherever the chips may fall so be it. If you commit yourself, then you have to prepare yourself to be dealt with by the law."
