The severity of impact that Hurricane Maria has had on Dominica becomes more apparent every day. The Organization of Eastern Caribbean States - of which Dominica is the poorest member - has gotten a firsthand assessment of the devastation in Dominica and has pledged to assist and is calling on others to do the same.

The US, Venezuela along with other countries in the international community are assisting greatly. Trinidad through the private sector has sent a large shipment of equipment, food and water to Dominica to help in this crisis.
