And the other alleged butcher killer was arraigned in Belize City today. 18 year old Hattieville resident Blake Lewis is accused of killing 62 year old Butcher Marcel Samuels. It happened on Friday on the Butcher Burns Road off mile 19 on the George Price Highway. Before 6:00 am, Samuels and his wife had just gotten off the bus to walk into their farm, when they were ambushed by two men on motorbike. One of them pulled up and shot Samuels in the head, while the other lashed his wife with a machete.
Hattieville Police were quick to arrest and charge the teenager. They believe the murder is related to a case of cattle theft that Samuels had reported in February of 2016. That case was in court - and his execution could have been an attempt to get rid of the case by eliminating the complainant.
Today in court, he was remanded until November 17.
