He cut his 10 year old son for refusing to go and get a plate of dinner from the neighbor, and tonight Henry Gillett is in jail because of it. The fisherman of a Brown Street address was arraigned on a charge of wounding and wanted to plead guilty. But he changed his plea when Chief Magistrate Fraser that he can get up to 7 years.
After that, he was unable to meet a bail of $1,000 dollars, and so he was remanded. One condition of the bail is that he does not come in direct contact with his son.
The allegation is that on September 30 Gillett caused a wound to his 10 year old son by cutting the boy on his upper right arm with a knife. Gillett admitted that he committed the offence and that he did so because his son refused to go and get a plate of dinner for him from his neighbor. Gillett's next court date is December 1.
