Another session of police training in the US - sponsored Gang Reduction and Education training, or "GREAT" program began at the Radisson today.
The idea is to train the police, who will then go into schools and teach young people how to resist peer pressure, how to handle peer pressure; how to deal with issues of gangs and drugs and a lot of the other social issues:…

"It is a life skill based lesson. We have bullying, setting goals, decision-making, and all of these things they will learn and this is what they will be teaching the students, in other words, this is a program that can assist and will assist the students to be free of crime."
"The goal is to transit police officers from the streets to the schools. We will try to do our best to educate and prepare them so they will be able to go and teach the lesson to children, to youths in different components."
The workshop consisted of 25 Belizean participants each coming from different districts and 15 participants from El Salvador. The workshop will conclude next week Wednesday.
