Today the IDB held a session for the City Council's senior staff at the Biltmore. They are engaging them on the concept of a sustainable city. Its part of an ongoing discussion and Councillor Dion Leslie explained that it's possible:...

"I believe the IDB team has been in the country various times talking and discussing with all the stakeholders on how to create a sustainable city for today, tomorrow and the coming years. And it's something the city council we have to be on board with. It is our city we are the municipal body, we are the municipal government and so we lead the charge in, you know, providing a city where everyone wants to live, a city that's safe, a city that can accompany the growth that we want to see that we want to see, accommodate the growth that we want to see we have to be on board with."
"So all of this would be included in this sustainable cities approach that we're looking at, in just basically what can we do, what would be the plan of action for the next coming years. And the goal at the end of the day, the goal remains the same better."
The project is in a nascent stage - and a consultant has not yet been identified.
