Making Moves With Morocco

Yesterday at the Biltmore, there was a conference for the Belize Marine Conservation and Climate Adaptation project. The project is funded by the World Bank and the main focus is on the development of the marine and the coastal resources of the country and how best to protect the Marine life. Representatives from Morocco were also present at the conference to have an exchange of ideas with the Belizean representatives. CEO Yvonne Hyde explained more.

"It looks at how best to protect them. How best to ensure that the person living along the coast using the resources of the coast but at the same time in a sustainable manner."

"I think both of us have similar objectives for both sides to understand how you can best maximize while protecting our coastal and marine reserve."

"Maybe in the case of both countries in situations where financial aids may be limited and certainly human resources are limited so how do we best utilize what we have to be able to protect the environment along the coast and in the marine areas."

The Representatives from Belize and Morocco will be going to different districts and Cayes to see the Marine projects and exchange ideas and best practices.
