Yesterday in the Northern Session of the Supreme Court, the alleged perpetrator, Yo Creek resident Edwin Hernan Castillo was sentenced to life in prison by Justice Herbert Lord after he was found guilty of committing the murder.

But new parole make it so that those sensed to life can qualify for parole. So, with that, Justice Lord gave Castillo a minimum sentence of 25 years. Castillo has been in prison since 2012 so he will have to serve 19 years in prison before he can apply for parole.
