This afternoon, 7 police officers from the Belmopan Police Station were given a nod by their police bosses for the "above and beyond" duties they performed during the September Celebrations. September is one of the busiest months for law enforcement, and these cops excelled when it mattered most.
So, the Belmopan Commander felt it necessary to treat the 7 police constables under his command. He treated them to a meal at Scotchies in Belmopan with their boss, Police Commissioner Allen Whylie. We stopped by for the award ceremony, and here's what the commanders told us:
The officers awarded today were Police Constables Alexander Shal, Porfillo Carillo, Gaina Hyde, Roberto Ical, Javier Alvarez, Miguel Martinez and Danny Mesh.
Each officer was given a certificate and a hundred dollar cash prize.
