Body of 33 Year Old Found Stabbed Up In River
posted (October 5, 2017)
And there is another murder to report - this one in Western Belize. This morning at around 8:00, Belmopan police received a report that there was a body in the river near Banana Bank Resort. The owner John Carr says he provided a boat to go and retrieve it:...

John Carr, Banana Bank Owner
"They brought a boat and went about a mile upstream. The body was in the center of the current moving rapidly. They found the body, took the body and brought it to Banana Bank and finish working the scene at best they could there. They seem to be very efficient on their money on the thing. They acted like they were in a hurry and they worked at it and did a good job and I can only say good things about the police. I just think that there is too much stuff going on. There is no facts right now, but there is some evidence on the body that it was foul play."

And, an on-site post mortem confirmed that foul play. The victim, 33 year old Cotten Tree resident Isau Perez received stab wounds to the chest and throat - which caused his death. Police believe that he was dumped in the river after that. Perez was known to police, and our information shows that he had three convictions and owed the court $10,000 for firearm offences. Police have no suspects at this time.
