Mother Please For Missing Son
posted (October 5, 2017)
Tonight, the Belize City family of 27 year-old Calvin Cattouse continues to worry about his safety because they haven't seen or heard from him since last Sunday.

His mother, Bernadine Cattouse, is starting to fear the worst, because from her perspective, he's never stayed out for this long, and he's always kept in close contact with her via phone.

This evening, she came to our office to make a public plea for him to get in touch with her if he's okay. Alternately, she is hoping that anyone with information on his whereabouts will get in touch with her or her family. Here's what she had to say:

Bernadine Cattouse - Mother of missing person
"Last time I spoke to my son was on Sunday. He was at my home and he told me he is going to go deal with something, mom, and he is going to come back. And from that day, I call his phone and it goes to voice message. I haven't seen my son from that day. I feel stressed out. I can't eat; I can't sleep good at night. I just want my son to please call me or contact me anywhere he is or anyone that have seen my son, please give me a call."

Daniel Ortiz - Reporter
"Is it unusual that he doesn't call you?"

Bernadine Cattouse
"Well, I guess something is wrong because my son doesn't do this to me. Whenever he goes, he goes and then he comes back and he lives at my home. He doesn't have anywhere else where he stays unless he goes to Corozal where he likes to go. I don't know where to look for him in that area but he has a place on the mahogany street that they call PIV that he goes to. But his older brother went last night to look for him and they say they don't see him for three days. So I just feel like something is wrong and I just want my son to come back home."

Daniel Ortiz
"Is your son the type of person to get involved with people who may get him hurt or with crowds that you don't approve of?"

Bernadine Cattouse
"Yes, I think he is, sir because he spent eight of his years in prison. He went to jail when he was 16 years old so I guess he is with the wrong crowd. But I don't think he will get himself in any problem that would get him back in jail because he told me, mom I won't go back to jail for things that you don't approve of. But I think he is with the wrong crowd. I don't want to swear for my son, I don't think that my son is a good guy but I'm just saying that I feel bad that he's not answering my call and coming back home."

Anyone with information is asked to call the telephone numbers, 622-5759, 636-3401, or 629-1645.
