"It was a very succesful campaign that we did. We had a great number of individuals that came out and assisted with the cleanup."

Sahar Vasquez, reporter
"Was there a lot of garbage that was actually found on the side of the road?"

Tyrone Chimilio
"Yes it was. We had several groups who actually ran out of bags. So we had to quickly redistribute those bags to them. Of course we know on hand that we do have an issue which is littering which is a continued effort that highlights the reason as to why we continue to do the "Walk For A Green Belize Clean Up." The behavioral change communication is very important for us, that you know in 5-10 years we don't necessarily need to be continuing doing the event, because we want to ensure that its zero littering and we have to continue to stop at it."

"Mr. Elroy Jones was a good person, he was not a troublesome type of guy, but like I always highlight to people - people may look at garbage as just trash, but it's actually a resource and through those resources that was a means of how he actually earn and income to feed his family. So having this fatal situation on Saturday, it hurts all of us who work closely with him."

All entities involved in the "Walk for a Green Belize Clean Up" sent out a press release this evening sharing not just their sympathies but also honoring Jones for his dedicated work ethic.
