Was ”Belly” Killed For His Gambling Game?
posted (October 23, 2017)
A man was gunned down on Saturday night near his favorite gambling spot. 41 year old Sydney Lamb was at a Causarina Street store when a gunman rode up on a bicycle and opened fire. Lamb's family believes it was robbery because his money was stolen. Courtney Weatherburne has more.

Courtney Weatherburne reporting
Cox Tire Shop is a popular hangout spot that's always live with the racket and clamor of close friends and gambling buddies.

Sydney Lamb also known as "Belly" was a faithful member of the gambling crew - so much so that pictures of him are pinned on the door of Cox's place.

Voice of: Aunt
"That is his life, that is his life, he loves his card, he love his gambling and he love his dice."

But those betting games may have cost Lamb his life. He was shot and killed on Saturday night after 7:00.

Lamb had just left Cox place with a big win, his family says between $1,000 - $2,000.

He then went to the nearby store on Casuarina Street as he always does. A gunman rode up on a bicycle and shot Lamb. According to the family, Lamb was robbed of all his winnings.

Voice of: Aunt
"When they took my nephew that night from out there, police took my nephew when they took my nephew they robbed my nephew I am not saying it is police but they robbed my nephew of his money."

"In this what I say somebody know he had all that money on him and followed him that is what they did to him."

"They know he leaves from there and goes to the Chiney every night to buy his things before he comes home."

Besides robbery, the family can't think of any other reason why anyone would want Lamb dead.

Voice of: Aunt
"My nephew does not gang bang, my nephew is not in no gang but you know as what they say this world is round, what you do come back to them but what they did to my nephew will come back to them, my nephew did not hurt nobody."

Now Lamb's relatives and his extended Cox Tire Shop family are left with the grief to bear.

Tefanie Francis, Sister
"He is loving person and he will be missed a lot."

"It just hurt me, it hurt me deep and I know I am not the only person that is crying, so many of us are crying for our loved ones, all I can say I just wish that this could stop."

Lamb leaves behind 3 kids.
