This afternoon several high school students got to hear the life story of a gang member from Los Angeles who found a way out and made a major life change. But, he had some help along the way from an NGO named Home Boy Industries. After sharing his story he gave us a little summary about his life and what motivated him to get out.
Verdugo is here as part of the US Embassy Speaker Programme.
He continues to help people that are in difficult situations and has met with gang members in Belize.
