Last week, we told you all about sustainable tourism and how good the numbers look so far in terms of tourist arrivals. Well a few hotels and tour operators are being recognized for their contribution to those promising figures.
BTB's 15th National Tourism Awards was held on Saturday at the Princess Hotel. There were several award categories. Leroy Welch from Las Terrazas Resort in San Pedro got the award for best Frontline personnel. Ian Anderson's Caves Branch took the hospitality award. While San Pedro's Grande Caribe got Hotel of the year. For the Small accommodations of the year award, Caribbean Beach Cabanas in Placencia came on top. The tour guide of the year award went to Estevan Choco from The Lodge at Big Falls. Toledo Cave and Adventure tours got tour operator of the year award and finally Restaurant of the year went to Rumfish y Vino in Placencia.
