Police Predators Turn Prey In PIV Territory?
posted (October 24, 2017)
Of course, that is just one side of the story. The other is the way residents of those neighborhoods, intimidate police in their own way. A video posted on Facebook on Sunday demonstrates just that. It shows GSU in the PIV area where the neighborhood is up in arms, mocking them and outnumbering them. Eventually, it results in the police officers having to fire warning shots to disperse the crowd while the residents run off, laughing at them.

Today, Commissioner Whylie described how police view these interactions:...

Allen Whylie - Commissioner of Police
"Whenever the police goes out to execute their duties in certain areas, residents of those communities are coming out in large numbers and, basically, in my view, obstructing, impeding the police in the execution of their duties. Insulting words, indecent words have been thrown at the officers. I will be looking at a policy to develop in terms of the police on their operations have been videoed and the circumstances on how they should be reacting but it's a difficult task. Persons who are involved in criminal activity and breaking the law, they don't want the police around but the police has the authority and the police will police every sector of this country."
