Mother And Two Kids Attacked In Terrifying Domestic Attack

At around 5:30 this morning a major domestic incident occurred which left three people injured and two of them were minors. The eruption of violence happened in the Mayflower Street area where it left the victim's family in shock. 7 news was on the scene and Sahar Vasquez has more on the story.

At around 5:30 this morning, while the rain was pouring down, domestic chaos erupted at this house on MayFlower Street.

Nikita Smith and her 2 children, were brutally attacked by Smiths common-law husband who is also the stepfather to her two kids. The reports of what he did to his family are almost unbelievable.

"He stabbed my cousin in his head because I saw blood coming from her head and she lay down on her living room floor and cement block was also there so I believe he dropped the cement block on her head She was unconscious."

"Her twelve-year-old daughter sustained injuries stab wounds and thing to her head and her ears were bleeding. Her son had a stab in the left side of the back of his shoulder and the kids went up to their grandma and told her what was happening and she then called out to everybody and everyone ran to see what was happening."

"When we rushed out well we found out that the common law Husband of my cousin Nikita. He got up in the morning. I don't really know what was running through his head."

Smith's stepson tried to fight him off, but, but in his effort to save his family he too was injured.

"He was sleeping in his room and he heard his little sister scream so he came out to try and fight off his stepfather and then he got stabbed."

The assailant is still at large because he fled the scene as people started to trickle in. Smith's two children are still trying to process the traumatic event and the fact that their mother is clinging to life. They want justice but most of all they want 31-year-old Nikita Smith to live.

Police say that, so far, they have been unable to get a report from Nikita Smith, because she was receiving medical treatment. No arrests have been made.
