He addressed the media at the close of the fourth Belize - CARICOM summit - and sitting between two CARICOM leaders, Grenada's Keith Mitchell and Belize's Dean Barrow - he outlined the importance of the CARICOM region:..

"...And also occasion to call upon the rest of the world to give greater attention to this region of the world -- the Caribbean region. This region that have had the opportunity to enjoy its beauty, whose primary economic activity centers on agriculture and also tourism and today requires greater visibility, greater attention above all."
Pena Nieto flew out immediately after that press conference. It was his first visit to Belize and he spent about 8 hours here.
