Capital Cops Quicker Than Quick Stop Robbers
posted (October 30, 2017)
Belmopan police have moved with commendable quickness to wrap up an armed robbery investigation and recover the stolen items.

We told you about it last week Thursday. Three men held up First Stop Pawn shop on Constitution Drive at gunpoint. They made off with $8500.00 dollars in cash, and $51,000.00 dollars in assorted gold jewelries.

Well, Belmopan police cracked the case quickly, and recovered 95% of the stolen jewelry. The Head of National Crimes Investigation said it was with the community's help:

ACP Joseph Myvette, Head - Nat'l Crimes Investigation
"Police investigation has since lead to the recovery of most of the jewels, most of the monies as well and the arrest of 3 persons. One for 2 counts of robbery; one for 2 counts of handling stolen goods and one person for abetment to commit robbery."

"It's simply based on investigation and cooperation from the public that has caused us to be able to crack the case, so to say, within 72 hours or less."

Reporter
"Are you able to say if any of these persons have any criminal history?"

ACP Joseph Myvette
"Not at time, but I know that one of the persons arrested was an ex-employee at some point."

It seems, the alleged culprits travelled Belize City to Belmopan to pull off the robbery. 20 year old Ryan Rhaburn - who is a former employee of First Stop and is Pawn Broker of a Belize City Address, was charged with Abetment to Commit Robbery; 22 year old Henry Sosa of a Belize City address was charged with 2 counts of Robbery and jointly with 1 Count of Handling Stolen Goods, and 21 year old Shada Davis, a domestic, also of a Belize City address with was jointly charged for one count of Handling Stolen Goods.

They were arraigned today, and Sosa was remanded while the other two were offered bail.

On Wednesday, the four officers who cracked the case so quickly will be recognized for their work with a lunch at The Bull Frog Inn.
