In Second Trial For Killing His Wife, Bucket Pleads Down To Manslaughter, Claims Provocation
posted (October 31, 2017)
10 years ago in November of 2007, Glenford "Bucket" Bermudez killed his wife 36 year old Raquel Requena, with a shotgun blast to her head. She was a taxi driver and was carrying a passenger - when he stopped her on the road, and shot her in the head. Bermudez then went and tried unsuccessfully to kill himself.

Now, Bermudez was already found guilty of the murder and sentenced to life in prison bask in 2011. But the Court of Appeal found that the judge had misdirected the jury, and so he was granted a second trial.

Well, now, the 46 year old Bermudez has pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of manslaughter. But now he says, his former wife provoked him by kissing another man in his presence. Prosecutor in the case, Crown Council Shanice Lovelle accepted Bermudez's guilty plea for the lesser charge. Trial Judge Adolph Lucas has reserved sentencing for Monday, November 6th.
