BDF Soldiers Off to Dominica
posted (November 2, 2017)
For weeks now we've been covering the catastrophe on Dominica after the monster storm Maria whipped the island nation with category 5 winds.

Well, now, the BDF is going to help them out. A press release today says that the Governor General has authorized the deployment of a platoon of 35 soldiers. They left yesterday, and they will work primarily on the construction of roofs and other building repairs. The platoon is being commanded by Captain Miguel Tuyub, from the Light Engineers Company, Services and Support Battalion. Their help is much needed, because about 90% of the structures on the island have been either damaged or destroyed.

The soldiers will return by mid-December.
