He's 36 year-old Con Murphy, an Irish National, and he was arraigned today before Magistrate Stephanie Gillett. The Magistrate read him the charges of driving a motor vehicle without due care and attention, driving a motor vehicle without a valid driver's licenses. Police say that they also charged him with the other offense of failing to provide a specimen for testing, but that charge wasn't read to him at his arraignment.

He pleaded not guilty to the other offenses, and the police prosecutor objected to bail on the grounds that he is not a Belizean, and thus, he is a flight risk. His attorney, Dickie Bradley, submitted to the court that he is a businessman with investments in Belize, he holds permanent residence here, and he has a daughter that was born in Belize.

After consideration, Magistrate Gillett granted him bail of $800 dollars. He had to surrender his travel documents to the court, and must report to the Ladyville police station every Friday. He must also return to court on January 11, 2018.
