Turning now to the north on the Phillip Golden Highway, there was a serious collision a little after 9:00 last night in Orange Walk Town. 78-year-old Apolonio Pacheco was driving his Chevrolet Silverado on the Belize Road and when he was approaching the Project Hope building, 21-year-old Pedrito Ku of San Jose Village drove his Ford Escape into Pacheco's lane causing a head-on collision. Remarkably, none of the drivers were injured, but four men who were in the car with Ku received various injuries. 40-year-old Rigoberto Juchim, Amid Gomez, and 16-year-old Rowel Cruz are listed in stable condition at the KHMH while Gian Juchim was treated and released from the Northern Regional Hospital. Blood samples were taken from both drivers as police continue to investigate.
