Chinese National Faces More Charges, But Where Did The Documents Originate?
posted (November 8, 2017)
Chinese national Yuanran Zheng is expected to be back in Belmopan Magistrate's court tomorrow charged for trying to get a social security card with a bogus nationality certificate.

As we told you last night, he has already been charged for uttering upon a forged nationality document and attempting to use it to obtain another form of identification, for which he was fined one thousand and two thousand dollars, respectively.

But, Zheng remains detained pending charges now from the Social Security Board - which will also charge him separately for using a fraudulent document to try and obtain a social security card.

He is expected to be arraigned for that tomorrow. Police are also investigating his Taiwanese-Belizean translator, Zheng Hui Lin, reportedly from Camalote village. He accompanied Zheng to the social security Belmopan office.

Police believe that they could be a ring that produces nationality documents - and these are used to dupe and penetrate the system. It's not hard, because the old type of nationality certificate has no significant security features, unlike the one which was introduced in May of this year.

On Monday, Zheng showed up at the Social Security Office with a bogus nationality certificate - which he claims to have legitimately gotten ten years ago. But, there is no record of him entering the country any time before Sunday, November fifth, 2017.

We'll keep following the story.
