posted (November 8, 2017)
Lyn Whitfield is an Emmy award-winning actress that has worked with legends like Oprah Winfrey and Denzel Washington. She is currently one of the stars on a popular show on the Oprah Winfrey Network called "Green Leaf" and she is also promoting her new movie "Nappily Ever After."

Indeed, Lynn Whitfield is a busy woman but that didn't stop her from accepting an invitation to be a part of the Belize's International Film Festival - which started this evening. She arrived today and this afternoon she shared some words of wisdom and told us why she is so excited to be in our jewel.

Lynn Whitfield, Actress
"I have never been to your country I am so excited to absorb everything here culturally to get a sense and an essence of the people to meet the artists that will be here. I am very proud to be on the jury for short films. I am so much looking forward to seeing what there is."

"Why I am excited to be here is this is an opportunity for us to celebrate other filmmakers, for us to celebrate our stories because stories mirror life and stories can change lives and make it be better and sometimes programme it to ways that are worse but here I am excited to be here by the sea and to be able to share art with people. I am just honored to be here and I am really looking forward to the next four days."

"I do my work to inspire people and admiring someone."

Whitfield is here with Belizean American Deborah Fairweather and Tracy Bing who played major roles in the production of her new film "Nappily Ever After." They will also be apart of the different panels during the film festival. The festival started today at 5:30 and will go on until Sunday. For more information about the festival you can visit their facebook page.
