On Arlington
posted (November 8, 2017)
When we met up with the UDP Mayoral Aspirant and the Deputy Mayor on Arlington Drive yesterday - they were overseeing street and drainage works in that area. Looks good, but the truth is that those works are long overdue - and it seems that only a pre election push will get them done. Along that line, the Prime Minister seems to have released a little cheddar for a pre election push. There are talks of cement paving 10 streets and bringing others like Arlington to earthen grade. Deputy Dean Samuels told us more:..

Dean Samuels - Deputy Mayor
"I have been in this area maybe about a couple of months. We have started drainage in this area before, the weather came and you found that we had to put a pause. Again, as the weather has finished we are all over the city we are patching, we are doing Earthen Street, this is a comprehensive project that is going on here, we are putting culverts and we are raising the street, basically all in, and we are going to ensure that the entire area is clarified and bushes cleared and everything for the area. So, this is a comprehensive program. It's going to encompass the entire area and streets in between."

Dion Leslie - UDP Candidate for Mayor
"This isn't just because elections are here. Yes, you are going to see a lot more activity, a lot more work coming along but we've been doing it from we got into office."
