Would Bradley Vote For Bernard?
posted (November 9, 2017)
And while we had the Mayor in front of us today - we tried to pull his tongue on two he plans to vote in the upcoming municipal election. Now, we wouldn't waste our time asking this question to any old politician - because we know they will tow the party line, but Bradley has proven he has a defiant independent streak and his gone against his party many times. But, not today - he said he's with Dion - but understands if you are not:...

Darrel Bradley, Mayor of Belize City
"I believe that Councilor Leslie demonstrated the prowess to really continue the good work. I think that he has contributed to over the last five and a half years and even before I became mayor. But of course it is something that the people will decide in March."

"How would you as a voter decide when you get to the polls?"

Darrel Bradley, Mayor of Belize City
"I'm all about demonstrated proof of work, so that I think the City Council has a certain level of persuasion that when I suspect Councilor Leslie goes on the street, he doesn't only pitch ideas, but he can say that he was part of works over the last five and a half years."

"Sir, but you must give someone a chance. That's what people did when they voted for you. They gave you a chance as well."

Darrel Bradley, Mayor of Belize City
"It's for the voter really. I learnt that lesson Caribbean Shores. I thought that I was a good candidate, but the other person won and so you have to live with that reality. I am a part of the United Democratic Party, of course I push the party's platform and I speak as a UDP candidate. I would want out candidate to win. But at the end of the day it's a democratic process. People can evaluate the various values. I think it is important that somebody can say that they have a vision and a record of performance, but another voter may say that they want that newness, they want that freshness. Some people may say what they are seeing in government is totally something according to what they believe should happen and they just want a change."
