Did Dion Pull Rank On Mayor With Campaign Funds?
posted (November 9, 2017)
We also asked Bradley about the couple hundred thousand dollars the Prime Minister reportedly set aside for road and drainage works spearheaded by councilor Dion Leslie as he pushes towards the election.

Just like on the Faber's Road Project, it sounds like Leslie - not Bradley - is the point person. The mayor says, it's understandable:..

Dean Samuels, Deputy Mayor
"A heartfelt thanks to the PM and central government for at the end of the day the mayoral candidate has bid central government to source material to get some well needed infrastructure work."

Reporter
"It is reported that Dion Leslie and his team has gotten a lot of money from the government, from the Prime Minister to assist them in doing the works they are doing."

Darrel Bradley, Mayor of Belize City
"I know that at this present moment I am still the sitting mayor. We are working on a series of projects in Belize City to continue the good work that we are doing."

Reporter
"So he is not in office yet, he is still campaigning, but he reportedly got money."

Darrel Bradley, Mayor of Belize City
"No, the political party that you represent would assist you. So that I don't know whatever assistance he is given, but I can speak to the fact that I am a proud member of the United Democratic Party, that when I was a candidate the Prime Minister himself and other members of the party would have assisted us."
