Fatal Accident in Belmopan - Driver May have Had Heart Attack
posted (November 14, 2017)

Last night we told you about three traffic fatalities in the Stann creek District. Â Tonight, there’s another to report - but this one happened in Belmopan where a taxi driver was killed.

It happened yesterday afternoon at 3:15 in San Martin village. 55 year old Preston Coleman was driving his Toyota Camry at the corner of San Martin and Argentina Street when he lost control of the vehicle and collided into a wooden lamp post.  Police found Coleman lying on the road with a cut to the left side of his chin.  Now that’s not usually a fatal injury, but our sources say Coleman may have suffered a heart attack which caused the accident.  Police have not released any info on that aspect of this case - we’ll wait for the result of the post mortem examination.
