Gerson Espinoza Medina is still on the run. He is the brazen Honduran national who pulled a gun on Cayo police on Friday night. Police had pulled him over on Loma Luz Boulevard to search him. Medina came out of his vehicle and allegedly tried to bribe the officers. That didn’t work and the officers told him he was under arrest and that is when Medina pulled out a gun. 

One of the officers tried to wrest the gun away from Medina and in that struggle it went off. Medina escaped but not before firing two shots at the police. Police returned fire but Medina got away. Police are still looking for him and suspect he may have been grazed by a bullet.

Now, Special Branch along with the San Ignacio Operation team found a .38 revolver along with 6 live rounds this afternoon. But they can’t say at this time if it is the one Medina used. But, they say he did use a .38.
